Chemistry Students from ITB Visit PT. Sinar Syno Kimia for Industrial Learning Experience
Chemistry undergraduate students at FMIPA-ITB recently held an interesting industrial visit to PT. Sinar Syno Kimia on May 11, 2023. The activity involved 31 participants divided into three groups, each consisting of 11 people. During the visit, the students had the opportunity to visit the WWTP, Production, and QC Technical locations, as well as meet with some senior staff at the company.
The aim of this visit was to build a collaboration between ITB and PT. Sinar Syno Kimia, which would provide long-term benefits to both parties. The students can gain insights and practical experience in the chemical industry, while PT. Sinar Syno Kimia can expand their network with prestigious universities such as ITB. It is hoped that this collaboration will open up new opportunities in innovative and environmentally friendly chemical product research and development in the future.
This visit gave great exposure to the students in understanding the practical applications of theoretical concepts learned in class. Moreover, they also learned about the safety precautions followed by the industry to ensure a safe environment for the workforce. They were able to witness the quality control measures taken at each stage of production, from raw materials to finished products. This experience provides them with a better understanding of the chemical processes involved in the production of various products.
In addition, the visit also allowed the students to interact with professionals in the industry who shared their insights and experiences. The students were able to ask questions and clarify their doubts on various topics related to chemical production and research. This interaction provides them with a unique opportunity to learn from experts in the field and helps them in shaping their future careers in the chemical industry.
Overall, the industrial visit organized by FMIPA-ITB for their chemistry undergraduate students to PT. Sinar Syno Kimia was a great success. The collaboration established between ITB and PT.
